Happy Launch Day to HER WILD IRISH ROGUE!

On October 16, 2018, my newest Regency romance, HER WILD IRISH ROGUE, became available for sale! It’s an exciting milestone in the creation of any book.

HER WILD IRISH ROGUE is part of the “A Legend To Love” series, 11 books written by a wonderful group of historical romance writers. We all got together to write Regency romance novels in which the main character (or characters) are based on legendary heroes and heroines.

In these books, you’ll meet Tristan and Isolde, Odysseus and Penelope, Pygmalion and Galatea, Mulan, Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Dracula, and Beowulf, in addition to my legendary couple, Cuchulainn and Emer. All of these legends have been re-imagined as Regency ladies and gentlemen falling in love.

HER WILD IRISH ROGUE is my retelling of the legend of Cuchulainn and Emer of Irish mythology.

Cuchulainn (pronounced “Cook-Hullen”) is the mighty warrior hero of the Ulster Cycle, an amazingly good-looking young lad who defeated entire armies with his wild berserker rages. He fell in love with the beautiful daughter of Forgall the Wily, Princess Emer, who declared she wouldn’t have him until he completed a series of heroic tasks. When he returned to claim Emer’s hand, her father forbade it. In the end, Forgall was defeated by his own trickery and the two lovers were united.

In my book, Captain Stephen Killian (Cuchulainn) has just arrived in Paris in July, 1815, about a month after the Battle of Waterloo puts an end to the decades-long Napoleonic Wars. There he meets Miss Emma Forgall (Emer), the daughter of Wellington’s spymaster Lord Forgall.

Captain Killian, wishing to put his wartime adventures behind him, decides to learn the subtle art of spycraft. Lord Forgall sends him to his second-in-command, Madame Scatha, who along with Emma and others will introduce him to the world of spies and diplomats.

When Madame Scatha sends Killian and Emma to the opera for a simple assignment, a series of mishaps set in motion a plot that could threaten the balance of power in Europe. Soon Killian finds himself involved in a new type of warfare — and racing to rescue Emma from a dangerous adversary.
